A Whole New World !

After 12 years of education.. Here's the final hurdle =) UNIVERSITY! The individual's usual sources of support are no longer present to facilitate adjustment to the unfamiliar environment. No more daddy, mummy, siblings or even house maids =) You are now GROWN UPS (being more independent)As many are used to this phenomena but many are still afraid or rather hesitant of leaving home ;)The first few weeks on campus can be a very lonely period as there would be a mixture of students who have been chosen. There may be concerns about forming friendships.Choose your friends wisely. This is the opportunity for you to network. When new students look around, it may seem that everyone else is self-confident and socially successful. The reality is that everyone is having the same concerns so dont be shy and make that first move.Students usually find peers in the university to provide structure and a valuable support system in the new environment. The important thing for the student to remember in meeting new people is to be oneself.Meaningful, new relationships should not be expected to develop overnight. It took a great deal of time to develop intimacy in high school friendships; the same will be true of intimacy in university friendships.Living with roommates can present special, sometimes intense, problems. Negotiating respect of personal property, personal space, sleep, and relaxation needs can be a complex task. The complexity increases when roommates are of different ethnic/cultural backgrounds with very different values. Communicating one's legitimate needs calmly, listening with respect to a roommate's concerns, and being willing to compromise to meet each other's most important needs can promote resolution of issues.University classes are a great deal more difficult than high school classes. There are more reading assignments, and the exams and papers cover a greater amount of material. Lecturers expect students to do more work outside the classroom. In order to survive, the student must take responsibility for his or her actions. This means the student needs to follow the course outlines and keep us with the readings. The student must do the initiating. If a class is missed, it is up to the student to borrow lecture notes from someone who was present. If the student is having difficulty with course work, he or she needs to ask for help--ask to do extra work, request an appointment with an academic advisor{Lecturers}. Have the best times of ur lives in the University! It's worth.. GOOD LUCK =)

Bangkok Day 1

Sawadikaab!! Hey Guys!! How have you all been?? My trip this time was to Bangkok [The land of Smiles] A city famous for.. Shopping? Sight-seeing? Pollution? lol

Jus will be having a short visit here just for 4 days n 3 nights..=)

6th June 2009

Woke up around 7 plus as I have to leave to KL Sentral before 9.30.. Had breakfast in Hilton PJ (Complimentary) I asked for a taxi to KL Sentral from the hotel porter and he was promoting to use the Hotel taxi service and he was bla bla.. say we meet in accident better take hotel taxi cos got insurance!! Was sort of pissed off by him!! Took a local cab to KL Sentral and then a bus from KL Sentral to KL LCCT{Air Asia}.. For a low cost carrier terminal it wasn’t that bad.. Had lunch at Old Town Coffee.. Then went hunting for newspapers.. Unfortunately no newspaper.. Useless place!! Would like to congratulate my dad for being conferred K.M.N by the Yang Di-Pertuan Agong last week. Went to the boarding area then got nothing to do.. So went to LCCT bookshop n saw sum books to read.. Nothing much to recommend.. Plane was delayed !! Frustrated!! Plane arrived few minutes later.. Boarded the plane and I thought I could finally rest my head~

Just then.. the pilot announces that we are heading to Langkawi!! WTH??!!! I’m suppose to be going 2 Bangkok.. 2 couples ran off the plane.. All of us were starting to panic.. ‘I’m soory that was a mistake.. We’re heading for Bangkok” Gosh!! That was a relieve!! Slept on d plane for a while.. We reached Bangkok safely that evening.. All was well... Took a bus to Dusit Thani Hotel, Silom Rd. Was like 1 hour +.. It was quite suprising a country like Thailand can be much more advance in development rather than Malaysia.. Just went for a stroll that night!! Got lots of roadside shop.. Had diner in a restaurant which had the weirdest meals =). Went bak to Hotel and slept for the day.. Was very tired d!!
